Question 1

How long does it take to get my return filed?

Accepted Answer

Most straightforward returns are reviewed and filed within a few business days of receiving your complete documents. Complex returns with business income or multiple states may take longer, and we give you a timeline upfront.

Question 2

What if I need to file an extension?

Accepted Answer

We can file a federal extension on your behalf before the deadline, which gives you until October to file your full return. An extension delays the paperwork, not any tax owed, so we estimate that separately.

Question 3

What documents do I need to get started?

Accepted Answer

Most filers need: W-2s or 1099s, last year's return (if available), Social Security numbers for you and dependents, and records of deductible expenses. Your tax secretary will send a personalized checklist.

Question 4

Is my information safe when I upload it?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Documents are encrypted in transit and at rest, and only reviewed by the preparer assigned to your file.

Question 5

When do I pay for my filing?

Accepted Answer

Payment is due when we file your return, after you've confirmed the final numbers, and not before we've reviewed your documents.

Question 6

Why is my price different from the starting price online?

Accepted Answer

The listed prices are starting minimums. Returns with additional schedules, multiple states, or added complexity may cost more. We always confirm your price before starting.

Question 7

Do you handle quarterly estimated taxes?

Accepted Answer

Yes. We calculate and guide you through quarterly estimated payments for self-employed clients and business owners, so you avoid underpayment penalties.

Question 8

Can you help me choose between an LLC and an S-Corp?

Accepted Answer

We can walk you through the tax math based on your actual profit. Entity selection has major tax implications — it's worth doing right before you file.

Question 9

How is my data encrypted?

Accepted Answer

All document transfers use industry-standard encryption, both while uploading and while stored on our systems.

Question 10

Do you sell or share my information?

Accepted Answer

Never. We do not sell, rent, or share your personal or tax information with any third party. Your data is used solely to prepare and file your return.
